• Every fake answers at once or never, and run polls the ask exactly once. A fake that returns Pending and later wakes breaks that, and the test panics with "fakes never leave the client pending".
• jitter is 0 in the fake runtime, so delays are exact: assert durations with assert_eq!, never a range.
