5**`speak` cannot pass the script by path.** `windows-exec`'s PowerShell can't see `\\wsl.localhost` (tested 2026-09-24: `Test-Path` is False even for `/home`), so the flake sends `speak.ps1` inline as `-EncodedCommand` and fetches the WAV back from Windows' temp dir. Don't "simplify" it to `-File`.

7**Always give `windows-exec` `</dev/null`.** It reads stdin; inside a `while read` loop it swallows the remaining lines.

9**Check vocoded lines with whisper before using them.** A vocoder can be unintelligible and nothing reports it. `whisper-cli` (nixpkgs `whisper-cpp`, model `ggml-base.en`) on the output should read the words back; homophones ("TikTok" for "tic tac") are fine.
